You may be asking why in the world I chose to highlight frugal shopping with my blog. I am well aware that there are plenty of frugal fashionistas out there capitalizing on the current state of our economy and I know that many blogs, columns, and style experts are also trying to make the most of our poor economic situation. However, I feel like my point of view is 100% my own; it is organic and creative, sarcastic and cynical at times, but at the end of the day it is all about being Fashion, Friendly & Frugal. No matter how many other people are exploring the world of making fashion work at very affordable prices, I am doing it my own way, for anyone that is interested.
My taste is very expensive but I have never had the luxury of being able to afford what I truly want to purchase (but I have been able to work around the fashions I dream about). Because of this, it has been my passion to recreate high-end designer looks through being frugal all while searching out inexpensive but quality-made apparel. May 2009 I graduated from college and was suddenly able to spend my hard-earned money on something other than rent, school books, and tuition. But, simply because my income was now able to go towards the things I wanted did not mean that I could blow every penny on something by Marc Jacobs. Through being a working college student trying to look fashionably put-together, I found my frugal niche.
Fashion, Friendly & Frugal is for real people. My frugal point of view is from my experiences, my education, and my desire to post my encounters for anyone to enjoy. I know someday I will be able to afford all the apparel and accessories I truly want, but until then, I will keep you all updated with my adventures in my Fashion, Friendly & Frugal world.
