Definition of Artist: Alexander McQueen

Tragic news. I got off work an hour ago, eager to indulge in another new episode of Project Runway and was very satisfied with the show. As the show was ending and as I was on my way to bed, my mom told me that Alexander McQueen took his own life. I was, and still am, speechless.

I will not go into details about his suicide but you can find more information at this link from the Los Angeles Times: "Alexander McQueen, iconoclastic fashion designer, dies at 40". I wanted to post something because he was such a well-known, unique, inspirational, and often imitated artist. He had the talent for longevity, innovati

on, and was always pushing the envelope. His legacy will live on through his vintage designs and hopefully in the hearts and minds of anyone in the fashion world. Gianni Versace now has a fellow artist and fashion designer by his side.

My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone touched by this unfortunate tragedy. We truly lost an immensely talented human being.
